I have recently returned to the feed industry after spending a number of years in academia and knowledge transfer developing and delivering equine related courses and events. I am passionate about educating the industry and making technical information accessible to all.

My name is Dr. Courtney Heaton and I am a lecturer at Auburn University. I received my B.S. and M.S. from Texas A&M University and my Ph.D. from Mississippi State University. My research has focused on the importance of starch in exercising horses, pro- and pre-biotic supplementation, the fecal microbiome, and enhancing the apparent digestibility of the equine diet. I also have an interest in insulin dysregulation.
