After his PhD defense in 2003 he continued working in the equine nutrition business until 2013. In 2013 he started his own consultancy (Equivado) and started the online education platform anivado.com. David is also responsible for the organization of the “European Equine Health & Nutrition Congress. Since 2010, David is an (part-time) assistant professor in equine nutrition at the Nutrition Department of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Utrecht University (UU), part of the Centre of Animal Nutrition (WUR). David has also been involved in projects of the Utrecht University Library related to the preservation of the equine veterinary patrimony. David’s current research interest includes macro mineral absorption, digestibility markers nutraceuticals but his current & future work within the Centre of Animal Nutrition will focus on "Feeding strategies for gastro intestinal health". Esther Peek BSc studied Applied Biology at HAS University in ‘s Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands. She chose the minor Applied Animal Science and graduated in 2019. Esther got in contact with ANIVADO when she did a project about equine nutrition in 2014. In 2015 she followed an internship at the equine clinic in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Utrecht. During this internship Esther found her passion for equine nutrition. In 2017 she did a project in mastication behaviour in horses. Edwin Claerebout is an EBVS® European Veterinary Specialist in Parasitology (dipEVPC) and professor in parasitology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Ghent University, Belgium, where he lectures on parasitic diseases in domestic animals. His research interests are parasitic diseases in livestock, in particular gastro-intestinal parasites. Dr Andrea Ellis is a renowned equine scientist, who has had horses in her blood from an early age both as an artist and scientist.
Andrea's early research focused on food intake behaviour and nutrient digestion in horses and sheep, and set her on a path of becoming a specialist in equine nutrition and behaviour. After working as a Scientific Researcher at the Research Institute for Applied Husbandry, Wageningen University Research, The Netherlands, for four years, she joined Nottingham Trent University as Senior Lecturer, where she led the design of the MSc in Equine Health and Welfare, and was Programme Leader of this course.
Andrea now runs her own company - Unequi Ltd. Research, Education Innovation and also works as a lecturer in equine nutrition, behaviour and welfare for various universities.

Wilbert Pellikaan is assistant professor at the Animal Nutrition Group of Wageningen University & Research. In 2007 he obtained his current position within the Animal Nutrition Group with half of his time dedicated to lecturing subjects in general animal nutrition and animal nutrition physiology, and supervising undergraduate and graduate students. His main area of research is ruminant nutrition with a special interest in using novel tanniniferous fodder legumes in dairy cow nutrition to reduce enteric methane emissions.
